Default Finally Did It!!

I finally got everything together and installed. I did the 4 gauge welding cable and upgraded my F&R switch last month. I installed the new controller, contactor and exrta batts last night and today.

Alltrax 4865 and 400amp 48v contactor from EVdrives

2 Deka GC10's in the bagwell

I wired the charge circuit Like Gorno's Z06 so I can use my existing 36v powerwise and a 12v Smart Charger on the 2 left out.

And with this Motor Upgrade

BURNOUTS AND WHEELIES!!!!!!

BRS, I haven't had a chance to test the 48v yet. Last night after I installed the new controller and contactor I could hit the pedal to the floor and my front wheels would come off the ground about 2 feet. The cart was still at 36v then. I'm in Virginia Beach and its raining and the wind is N at 35mph so tomorrow I'll take it out, gps the speed and I'll post the results. So far I like the PQ motor. When I picked it up Mr. Steen told me that it would run better on 48v. I'm pretty excited

See the 7/16 bolt heads in the side of the case? You have a good motor, it can be taken to even higher power but watch your wheel hubs on launch.

Nate, It was an Advanced Motor when I took it to The Steens. I talked to Mr. Steen this morning and he said I could put more volts to it. I'm thinking maybe 1 more 6v.....or 12v

I am guessing your motor was black when you took it in, which is the color of Advanced DC motors. They make a good motor and you could probably run 96 volts without issues. If you go above 96 volts you might need to advance the brushes. Keep an eye on your speed; you don't want to rev the motor above 8000 RPM unless Mr. Steen said otherwise.

What tire size are you running?
I assume you have the stock 12.44:1 gear ratio.

Yes it was black. Mr. Steen told me that was a strong motor and he did tell me not to run it over 8000rpm. I'm running 23 inch Alltrails. What kind of controller and contactor would you recommend if I decide to go up to 96 volts?

Well Well.......I just did a little test run.........

WOT I'm running 20 mph on flat pavement. Took that measurement by having my friend follow me in his truck (I left my GPS at work).

When I mash the pedal from a dead stop the wheels come off the ground about 3 feet.

If I am going backwards a little and mash the pedal the front end will go up until my receiver hitch hits the pavement and hold it for about 10 feet.

But..............I Want More!!!

What do I need to do a burnout. The asphalt is wet right now and I strapped the cart to my F-350 and it would only brake the tires if I rocked side to side.

I'm thinking D-380 Purple.........I'm calling the Steens in the morning to talk to Robbie.
