Default Fiberglass Repair Help & Info

I have a couple bad spots on the rear corners of the body on my 88 Club Car that I am going to try to patch myself. I've never worked with fiberglass before, so does anyone have any tips, recommendations on a brand of stuff, tricks, techniques, etc. that they would care to share? I want it to be a decent looking job, but it doesn't need to be absolutely perfect because the bumper will cover most of the area. I'm hoping to learn from what others have done and make it a little easier.

Thanks

I sanded on the inside and layed mat then exterior i bondo'd. I used the stuff at home depot. It worked for me. Someone else will have to chime for the expensive stuff. There is a fiberglass...site that sells top line and gives great writeups how to use. I just didnt want to wait for shipping. I found it

First and foremost, the area needs to be free of oils and paint. Glass from the inside against exposed glass. Once you let that area dry, rough it up and cut pieces to fit on the areas on the outside of the body to build up your area. Sand smooth.

Yeah some pics of what your trying to fix would help alot, there is a lot of way to skin this cat. it's not a hard job at all, the resin and fiberglass mat from home depot will work for you

You could drill a couple of holes in the adjacent good parts of the body and bend some thin gauge copper wire to make your corners and have something to shape your glass as you lay it. Once it has dried you can trim the copper wire flush and just feather out the edges of your repair

I see about having something behind to hold the corner - thats a good idea. After it dried, could the wire even be removed (from the holes) then just fill the holes?

BD, the damage looks bad in the pics but it is really only a couple inch square area on each rear corner that is damaged. The rest of the body has ugly paint, but is otherwise perfect - I would like to use it if at all possible.
