Default Best/Cheapest/Functional Table Saw?

I need to find a table saw that isn’t too bulky Maybe stored on a countertop. And not terribly heavy to move as needed.

I want the cheapest available but one that performs well without spending a lot of money.

Anybody have any positive feedback or recommendations for cheap?

I have one of the small Ryobi saws. It works good for little jobs.
Selection depends upon what you are cutting.

Yeah
I just get caught up reading the reviews and the negatives always pop out.

Plus I know I’ll use it just how often. When I go cheap I use the crap out of it and wish I’d spent the money on a nicer one. But when I go pricey I barely use it haha

I know the answer to this question. I just need to know what you will be cutting. How thick and how large would help too.

It’s kinda hard to say

Some times I’ll use nice 4x4 cedar

2 or 3 pieces of 1/2” plywood pressed/glued together.

It would also be nice to swap blades for metal and plastic cutting.

Just random materials I guess

Most of the smaller table saws are going to be 10" which may not go through a 4X4. Just depends on how the saw is setup. As was said, a lot depends on its use. I own a small Delta and it is decent but made for smaller pieces because it is fairly light and will flip over. I have an old big Rockwell cabinet saw that is a beast. Nice and heavy with a large table top with a beefy motor to back it up but I can cut 4X8 sheets of plywood on it by myself..

The 10" Dewalt table top is a good reliable general purpose saw. You can get it at Home Depot for about 250. I bought one similar to the one they make now almost 15 years ago and it is still going strong.

I second what ironmonkey said. By an old one- used- American made pre: 1980 if possible. It will cut like a dream- will probably outlast you, and can be bought at yard sale or estate sale for cheap. I personally use my grandfathers 1952 craftsman from back when craftsman was a good name. Its far superior to my dads 1987 model crapsman. I upgraded the motor but otherwise is stock.

Good and cheap rarely go together. I would do as Ironmonkey says, buy a good used one. 2 or 3 pieces of plywood glued together is pretty tough. I would stay away from cheap HF stuff on this one. I have a good, small Craftsman but the small ones have their limitations. Wind up using a skilsaw 99% of the time. But, I've been running a skilsaw for 30 years and can cut a good line with one.
