Fixing my old HF drill press
One of the first things I bought from HF many years ago was the 5 speed bench top drill press. Some time back the motor would just hum when turned on but would run until I spun it to get it going. Anyway after some reading the question became was it merely the staring capacitor that was bad. Pull it out from under the metal cover and sort of matched up the asian label to capacitors on Ebay. And voila after installing the couple of dollar unit the springs to life as good as ever. P.S. I did spring for the extra $'s for an USA seller so it came in a matter of days. Cost $4.99 delivered.

Re: Fixing my old HF drill press
It is satisfying to fix things yourself ... so many things these days are throw away items ... or it's cheaper to buy a new one than repair the old one. What happened to the good old days when you took your toaster or a kettle into the service center to get a new element put it ... and it then lasted another 10 years. . I guess that is why we like having golf carts ... when they break, we can fix them
