At 3500rpm isn't this comparable to a common circular saw? I mean maybe there are blades that fit the saw you already own. I have purchased and used metal cutting blades for my Skil saw. Chopped up an entire garage door with one, tracks and all. Worth checking into, might save some $$$.

Well, i did something like that with a miter saw. Trashed the saw and it took for ever to cut. The one thing i noticed different with my metal chop saw versus a miter saw is torque.

wow i wouldnt want to be around it cutting with out a full face shield !!! i can just pic in my head all that saw dust flying around being metal fragments. personaly if your wanting something thats a fast versatile cutting at that price id say just throw in a few more houndred and just buy a plasma cutter (thats if your looking to be cutting sheet metal too if not i'd just buy the hot saw (chop saw to some)

Ive got a chop saw, metal cutting band saw, and angle grinder that i use cutting discs with. But i often need something like these skill saws to cut stuff. If a regular skill saw will do the same thing but with one of their blades, ill buy a cheap skill and put the blade on it.

Looks as if the 80 dollar blades are the secret.

Im going to air gas in a little while to swap welding bottles. Ill ask them about this and see what they say. I was reading about these on millers web site and from what i read they seem to work. As far as putting a metal blade on a regular skill, it seems to only work for thin metal like sheet metal

Have somthing like this in a miter saw at work, does an ok job but better off with a abrasive blade. They do make them for circular saws.

well i went by air gas when i got off work. they sell a different brand but the same thing. i tried asking questions about it, but they acted like they didnt want to sell me anything. sad part about that is the company i work for buys more oxygen, acetylene and nitrogen than anyone in our area. but, ill shop somewhere else. any way, i didnt get any info from them.
