Default how to restore yamaha g29 factory finish?

I know this has probably been discussed in a number of threads but I'm new and haven't found exactly what i need yet. I just picked up an 09 yamaha gas drive (g29a) and the body has that somewhat dingy, water stained look. Soap and water doesn't cut it. The windshield has the same problem. What is the easiest way to get it back in shape? I'm considering buying some cleaners online (brillionize or plexus). Are either worth anyfhing? What about cleaning the acrylic windshield? I'm a newbie so go easy on me. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I use a product from Knipps called eraser. It works great on cleaning vinyl, plastic and I also use it as an upholstery cleaner. It's a little pricy but does work well. I get it from a local dealer but it is also available online here http://www.knipps.com/retail/mproduct.asp?dept=1000

Since the body has automotive style paint, you can try "rubbing or polishing" compound or something like "renue" or maybe even a "clay bar" and buffing and then wax.

Does it have automotive qualiy paint being yamaha factory? I was under the impression that this was like a colored plsstic vs. A painted plastic. Anyway, i purchased this plexus stuff. Hopefully its good.

The bodies are injected/molded Olefin with automotive paint sprayed on. Treat the paint just like you would your car.

For repairing a windshield I use the same kit for renewing headlights, you just follow the instruction. I have done lots of old windshield and they come out great. Just do a small area at a time 6" x 6" a and pick up a electric buffer.

Thanks. Funny you post about the headlight kit. I just hit the windshield with a kit a couple of weeks ago out of curiosity while I was doing some headlights. Sure enough, worked. Pain in the rear, but clear.

I don't use the sanding disc, I just use the cream and a buffer and big scratches I lightly use sanding disc. Buffer makes it quick and easy, siminize buffer, cheap one.

A power buffer & polish compound it... Go easy until you get the feel for just how much pressure. Also works on window. Use a very light compound & a light touch on the windshield. I have taken some pretty good scratches out of plexiglass, but some can only be "somewhat improved". Be sure to always keep the products closed when not in use & between applications, it dries into "crustys" that will make you scream (and possibly wreck the job). Clean your buffer pads Really Really good, or lightning will strike you down.

I am a big fan of the Chemical Guys products on my cars. I used their cutting polish first a 38 then a 32 and topped with their Jet Seal on my 2013. Came out like new, used my random orbital buffer and hex pads. Mine was some oddball special order color charcoalish metallic that a local course ordered. Came out much better than I expected. Just don't get on your plastic or it will have to be painted, does not come off. Could not tell where the stickers and car numbers were applied.
