Default What is the difference between old and new?

Just curious if the electronics, motors, etc are that much different between a few years (electric).

Lets take for example I looked at a couple EZGO carts. One is a 2005 basic model (no lift, tall tires, rear seat, etc) that appears to be in decent shape.

The other is a 1997 model that appears to be in at least as good shape with a better paint job, lift, wheels, and tires already installed. This one also has the rear seat installed where the first one does not (another $300).

I can get the 1997 cart for only $500 more than the 2005 model.

So my question is this: Is there any reason to go with a newer model or pay more for a newer model vs and older model in good condition or refurbished?

What has changed or been upgraded internally?

I understand why a newer gas model would be wanted...but how about an electric model other than normal wear and tear?

Have the guts had a complete makeover?

Some sellers seem to feel a cart is a cart, so I am wondering is there an advantage to buying a newer 48 volt vs an older 48 volt or a newer 36 volt vs an older 36 volt as long as the batteries are not older?

I'm sure like most vehicles carts might be sold in generations so to speak, is there a year change where some have better parts than others in the same brands? (Assuming the the years are close enough that the body styles are similar)

i'd go with the 97 .. i just like the older carts to work on
the lift ,tires, & seat are well worth the extra $500
