Aluminum polish opinions
So I just scored a set of aluminum wheels & 205/50-10 tires from Craigslist. The wheels are in need of a good polishing. They aren't pitted, just dull/grey looking. They are the same wheels pictured here (pic found on this site), so I know what they can look like. What's your product of choice to get them there?
Thanks in advance! |

Ditto! Mothers Aluminum MAG polish works great. Wenol is another good metal polish. - Mayor

I concur with both the answers above. I have also used X-Treme (or Extreme) metal polish as well. It is cotton impregnated with polish. It's a pink color. I bought it at my local Harley shop. I've used it for years on my bike.

+1 for Mothers. 0000 steel wool will also polish glass without scratching it (hard water spots, etc)
Just make sure you wipe off and buff the aluminum as soon as the Mothers turns black. |

Bling Bling
Ever try one of those polishing foam thingys that go on a cordless drill? They come in ball or coned shape and work great. Just apply the polish to the foam and let it work. |

Re: Aluminum polish opinions
I actually purchased a cotton one on Saturday. When I went to use it last night, I couldn't find it. Located it this morning in the dog's crate. He musta snuck in the garage & grabbed it. So, the result you see is all hand-rubbing.

Re: Aluminum polish opinions
In the old days we used to use Met-All and then wipe it off with flower. It took all of the black off and left a real nice shine. You might want to clear coat afterwards.
