Default Lift kit

Hi, I have a 93 DS that has an older spindle type 6" lift on it already. I want to order the 6" A-Arm style lift from jakes but have a couple questions first. 1, is it true that I have to run at least 10" rims? I have 8"s on there now with nice tires. 2, it looks like the best deal on a lift/wheel combo kit is thru eBay on rocky top carts page which I was told sell jakes kits. Just looking for opinions on what everybody thinks the best deals are? Thanks for any info.

Rocky top does not sell jakes they are a knock off of all sport
They make the ride stiff
The 6" will need 10" wheels or spacers for an 8" to fit

I have the Allsports 6" double A-arm lift and in the instructions it said the same thing, that you HAD to run 10" wheels (they never really say why). When I installed my lift, I put the stock 8" wheels on it and it was totally fine. No rubbing or wheel clearance issues whatsoever. Granted, I still had the stock tires on the wheels, but there was still plenty of clearance and I think they would have worked out fine with my 22.5" tires. If you already have a 6" spindle lift and are clearing the tires just fine, there should be no issue.

I didn't end up using my stock 8" wheels (but not because I didn't think they'd fit). I bought 4 new 2+5 offset 8" wheels ($16 apiece) that looked identical. It seemed easier to get nice new wheels with new stems and since I bought brand new tires, I didn't have to pay for any dismounting. Another reason I bought the offset wheels was to widen the track of the cart since it was now lifted so high.

Here's my thread that details my lift, etc. See post #45 for some detailed photos of the stock wheels bolted up:

I have a 2007 ds cart with the jakes a arm lift. It will not fit the 8 inch rims as it will rub on the spindle. Enjoy your lift I love mine.

Thanks for the info. A buddy of mine not too far from here has the rocky top a-arm kit on his cart, I'm gonna try one of my rims on his cart this week to see if it'll work. It'd sure save me some cash if it does work!

I have the 6" a arm lift from Rocky top. 8" rims rub the spindle.

Like I said, the stock wheels did not rub at all on my Allsports SS A-arm kit. It's a great lift:

I can't be certain from the pics but the wheels you started with don't look stock to me. A stock CC wheel has no offset (centered wheel/equal width from center of wheel to outside and inside of rim). Yours look like they might be a 2+5 (meaning center pushed towards inside 2" and from outside of rim would measure 5" to center.

This is very common, I can't tell for sure, but just saying what it looks like to me.

I bought brand new 2+5 wheels when I bought my new tires. My cart came from a golf course where it spent its entire life, so I guess I had no reason to believe it would have offset wheels on it (?). I gave those "stock" wheels (& tires) to a buddy, I'll have to measure them sometime when I'm over at his place...
