Default Hesitation

I just replaced a rebuilt generator on my gas club car. The belt is tight. The battery is new. I just serviced it and the filters are new. When I press the gas pedal I get a slight screetch and then it starts or I may let up on the pedal, press again and it starts. This hesitation is a pain in the butt. Anyone have any ideas what the hesitation is all about? Carb need cleaned? Thanks.

Put it in maintenance mode (so you can run the motor in neutral), lift the seat and watch the clutch when you hit the gas. If the clutch starts moving right away but the large clutch belt doesn't, you may just need a new clutch belt or have an issue with the distance between the drive clutch (on the motor) and the driven clutch (on the transaxle). Screetching noises don't usually have anything to do with carburetors.

Maintenance mode involves turning that little yellow cam on the back of the shifter. Pull it out, turn it 180 degrees and snap it back in.

What year is your cart? There should be a serial number up under the glove box at the top of the floor mat.

Nahh Springbok, I'm betting that the squealing, and hesitation is because his S/G belt isn't tight enough! (Just rebuilt the S/G)

He did say the belt was tight, which I assumed he meant the S/G belt since he just replaced the S/G. That's why I was directing him to the clutch belt.

Somebody has to give you a hard time!

Landscapes idea of tight , and Club Car's idea of tight, just might be two different things!

Oh yeah... Welcome to BGW Landscape11
