On a standard 97 Cart, what was the horsepower?
Brother in law has or had a chance to pick up a horizontal shaft dual cylinder Motor and he called and asked me what HP is the motor in the cart?
I am not privy to all my notes and manuals right now- and thought I would ask looking at the shaft, is the motor supposed to turn Clockwise or counter clockwise? Thanks this is also the first time he wants to buy parts for the cart Yeeeeehaaaaaaa |

If its a 97 cart your engine & rear are cw rotation.
that brigs ccw rotation engine will not make it faster without some modification. Also if I recall, a dual cylinder engine will not fit a stock cart without a lift. |

Re: On a standard 97 Cart, what was the horsepower?
All modern engines are CCW rotation. Speed is a product of rpm not hp. The stock motor probably ran about 3500 rpm give or take 300. You wont get more speed unless you turn the gears faster than that.
