What would you check next?
93 club car. Won't start. Here's what I've done:
New spark plug (but not sure how to check if I'm getting spark) *Checked fuel pump....seems to be working fine. Disconnected from carb and fuel comes out of the line while trying to start. *replaced carb and gaskets *Charged battery It's in good shape *Changed oil & filter (figured I would do that while I was all dirty) *new brake shoes (nothing to do with the non-start issue but I thought I would tell you anyway0 *checked the air/suction. It's getting good suction from the air box. *checked the two fuses I could find *checked the wires connected to the forward/reverse/neutral lever *checked the wires in the black box. Awfully dirty in there but couldn't find anything loose or unplugged. So.....what would you do next to get this thing running. It was running good. Maybe a little sluggish to start. But now won't turn over. I"ve ready things about an ignitor. Any way to check that without buying a new one? Any other suggestions? Anyone in the Houston or Centerville area that wants to work on it? Would rather pay an individual than a shop. |

Re: What would you check next?
Check for spark next. Take out the spark plug, put it back in the boot, hold the metal part against the engine block to ground it and see if it sparks while cranking the engine.

Re: What would you check next?
Ok. Will do. Unfortunately i had to leave the cart at my land 120 miles away and can't get to it.
if you don't mind, would would be the next step if there is no spark? What would need to be replaced? And if there is good spark? Any other suggestions? |

Re: What would you check next?
If no spark, check magnets on both the flywheel and coil for rust. Try sanding them so their shiny and recheck for spark. If still no spark, check the coil ground wire. It will be a small gauge wire going from the coil to the engine block. If both those things check out and you still have no spark, replace the coil.
If you do have spark, I would check the compression of the engine. |

Re: What would you check next?
You'll have to take the shroud off to get to the coil...

Re: What would you check next?
The flywheel cover, not the valve cover.

Re: What would you check next?
I see that one of your comments is that it won't turn over. If that is correct you can't check your spark.
