Default What Motor?

A friend of mine has this Club Car gas cart that has seen its better days. He wants to rebuild the motor as it is smoking like a mosquito fogger but cant find an identifying # on the engine he has removed. Here is the Cart SR#,DG8914170048. I sure will appreciate any info. that can be provided. Thanks clubcartwright.

dg89 would indicate that it is a 1989 , that would be a kf82 kawasaki engine , obsolete but it can be rebuilt , but you are better off upgrading due to some parts such as the ignitor no longer being available and you rebuild an engine just for that part to die right after becomes a waste of money , check out the big block section and get some ideas , unless the cart is lifted i would recomend a clone swap , check out our site sponsor vegas carts for the most economical way to do the swap
