Re: Xcelerator Kit
I'm pretty sure it "looks like" a stock set up, it just acts different!

Re: Xcelerator Kit
Thanks for the pictures. I notice the kit also comes with a new throttle cable. Is this a different cable or is it just a new stock one? Is there any other adjustments or parts with the kit? thanks

Re: Xcelerator Kit
The new cable has a different spring on the end of it where it attaches to the governor arm on the drive unit. There are also heat shields included to keep the new belt from getting hot since it will be riding closer to the exhaust than it was with the smaller OEM clutches. The only adjustment you'll have to make it to the RPMs. You make that adjustment under the floormat on a Precedent or in the electrical box under the seat of the DS. A portable tachometer will help you with that.

Re: Xcelerator Kit
So, with the Xcelerator kit you gain top end at about the same RPM as stock. I've always wondered, can you "stack" the kit and the trusty old zip tie governor spring mod for more top end?

Re: Xcelerator Kit
I've never tried it running factory RPM. The book tells you to crank them up a bit. I can't remember exactly what the max RPM was, I think 3400ish or so. The last kit I installed was on a Precedent with an FE350 and 23" tires. It was running 29 MPH at 3500 RPM. I don't think it's necessary to "stack" these mods as you mention. The tighter spring on the end of the cable is basically the same concept as collapsing the factory spring with a zip tie. I like these kits so much better than high speed gears because you don't lose the low end torque.

Re: Xcelerator Kit
I'm digging up this old post because I'm still interested in an Xcelerator kit, but I'm having a heck of a time finding them. Are they still in production?
