new carb
heres a story about a new carb, a few weeks back a guy called me and said his cart was not running right , so I went over to check it and he said he put a new carb on it but had to choke it to keep it running. the cart was very neglected to say the least, I removed the carb bowl and ran a tip cleaner through the hi speed jet , no change , checked intake gaskets and insulator and gaskets, removed carb to check jet size compared to the old carb, the jet numbers all matched, my eyes aren't as good as they used to be so I used a magnifying glass to see them, before I reinstalled them I compared the old and new main jets together and I could see the hole in the new one was physically smaller than the one from the original carb. so I installed the jets from the old carb to the new carb and the cart ran great.
be careful when buying these new carbs , I think he said he bought it from a well known auction site, Chinese knock off ? |
