I just traded to a gas Club Car! Or is it?
New acquisition, just traded for a 91 Club Car AG. Something weird about the motor though-- after a little research, I think I've got a Frankenstein. I think I've got an 88 ezgo motor assy in there...

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Here's the motor-- I think it's from an 88 ezgo
According to the serial ID tag it's an AG from 91. But, the whole lower frames and rear are kluged in... Working on getting it running, I think the carb is shot. I'm considering one of those knock off ones on ebay, 40$ for a whole assy, vs 30 for just the kit. Has any one used one of those? |

That's definitely not the KF82 flathead that should be there.

That looks like the Robin 2pg engines found in older EZGO Marathons

Re: I just traded to a gas Club Car! Or is it?
I think they've put a whole rear assy off an 88 ezgo under there. Been cleaning things up, the whole linkage assy is a mess. There are no micro switches, just 2 switches on the dashboard. 1 seems to be on/off, and the other seems to be for the starter/generator. I've gotten it to fire, but cant seem to keep things running. Time to read the boards and bone up on troubleshooting...
I have spark, but it does not seem to be constant. There is an automotive coil, so next Ill test that. Does the body of the coil need to be grounded? |

Yeah it's a 2pg. Missing the fan shroud. Looks to be like an 86ish

Re: I just traded to a gas Club Car! Or is it?
It had the carb from an 88 on it, but there is some sort of spacer plate in between the carb and adapter-- looks like a restrictor place like they use on nascar. Definitely home made. I'm wondering if I should enlarge the hole to match the carb....
What makes you say 86ish? Is there something that stands out? |
