Default OK I am in the country with the cart

When it's in neutral, it's actually in forward
When it's in reverse, it is in neutral
I shortened the cable as it looks like in Scottybs instructions and not going into reverse
I am going to take some photos of the 2 spots that work

Will a 2 pound sledge hammer work? Could that convince it to go into reverse?

I know "pictures speak louder then words" for you...
But I think it's about time you read the manual instructions I gave you in your other thread!

found it ;lockman- even if I would have found it, could have read it on a smart phone- see what happens when you play too many games and not wearing a helmet? as my son says, sometimes Edad you might not be the brightest lightbulb in the barrel, but you sure are the most colorfulllll

me confused.... start with adjusting the cable ends to be basically in the middle at each end.... i have pictures from a 99 stock, if you need pictures. Don has posted the manual read out for this.... usually when you need a BFH, or The Big Presudader , you have done something wrong.....

Thank you Sir- I know the heat kicked my butt this weekend and I keep looking at this and I am baffled- I read the manual pages on my computer ( trying to look at pics on a smart phone, sucks- when I got home I was able to enlarge photos- I now understand, the picture in the manual is the back side of the front wall, where the shift know is located- I posted the pics of the lever at the transaxle-

so what I am seeing, I need to lengthen the shift cable at the transaxle, to allow it to push the rod further into reverse?

being an Old guy, with diabetes, and way too many concussions from playing rugby without a helmet- has lessoned my ability to pick up on some things more quickly than Others, I am not being lazy, just being impaired-

I know that the lever that is connected to the transaxle, has a key to keep it from twisting on the spline.

I have blown up the manual picture, and do not see a key on the firewall knob>

I am now wondering if that front lever has loosend andcreated my problem?

Any thoughts

is it stock or lifted? if its stock, take it back to factory, basicly, set the nuts in the middle of the threads. if its not then the cable needs adjusted for the extra length it dropped from the lift kit, and it need surported too..... and make sure its not broken at the rear 90 peice by the shock.

sometimes a simple little thing will kick your arse....dis connect the cable at the transmision side, find out were it says the reverse and neutral, and forward are, so you can see where you got to go with it, use your hand shifter and see were it wants to go....and then adjusted it close before you rehook it up to the transmission arm, and do the final adjustment... might be easier.
