Check all of your ground cables and then wires, you got a loose one floating aroung in there.

I strongly recommend that you get a CC Maint/Repair Manual for your cart if you are keeping it and planning on doing the work yourself.
I buy mine from a local CC dealer who has tons(it seems) of them between $20-$25.

Meanwhile try this sticky http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...-diagrams.html

Glad you got it worked out Colin, Sometimes it's not easy to be an internet mechanic, Being at the oposite end of the keyboard we tend to think of failure ratio and repeatability percentage of issues and suggest them first.
You take ten carts with the same symtoms and 9 will have a broken wire to 1 brush issue.

The good thing about it is the next guy that posts a problem like yours and we suggest wires, jump on in and tell him to check the brushes.

Good times..........Mitch

And next time listen to your Dad!
