Default Carb question

Hi all,
So I have asked a few questions in the past regarding my recent purchase of a 2002 key start carryall. When I bought the cart the guy said he recently replaced the engine from a fe290 to fe350. Well the other weekend i was having an issue of the engine being starved for gas which turned out to be a plugged fuel line in the tank because of a bunch of crap in there. So that's all cleaned out, new fuel lines and filters have been installed. Here's my next question. After having done all this I noticed my engine is actual an fe400, I'm wondering if he never replaced the carb what sort of issues would arise from a fe350 carb being on an fe400 engine. The cart runs great at higher rpm, but seems to idle rough. From a cold start the idle is much worse and often dies until I get the engine warm enough.

Any thoughts?
Thanks
