Welcome to the forum PJDIWMI....................
Sounds like the cables needs to be adjusted. |

Re: 85 gas no reverse
If we take the cables out of the picture by disconnecting at the shift lever on the transmission.
I lift the rear end of the cart into the air with my overhead shop crane. Put the shift lever at the transmission into forward position and start the cart the rear wheel spins forward When I put the shift lever at the transmission in the reverse position the rear wheels do not spin at all. If I set the service switch to service and the shift lever to neutral at the transmission the wheel turns as if it is in forward. I thought the service switch let you start the cart in neutral with out power transfer to the transmission. So Maybe I have dual challenges to resolve. The service switch and the reverse lever at the transmission? |

Re: 85 gas no reverse
The neutral service selector just trips the micro switch to put 12v to your ignition system as your selector lever would if you put it in gear.....so it has nothing to do with the cart being in gear ....that is strictly a shifter or cable or trans axle problem...Now that you have the cable disconnected......can you find neutral at the transaxle lever? Have a nice day

Re: 85 gas no reverse
Thanks for the info on the service switch. I believe I have over come the other challenge of the reverse not working.
Somewhere on one of threads there was a discussion on sychronizing the slector by throwing it into the opposite gear while the wheels were still turning (not under power) I tried that late this morning and it actually worked it didn't sound real good so I don,t imagine it was the correct fix but for now reverse is working. Thanx for the ideas and also the help. |
