Default Club Car Carryall VI Alternator Question

I just acquired a Club Car Carryall VI that has a starter/generator & an alternator (mounted on top of the engine),I haven't found any info on this setup and was wondering if it came from the factory like this(?).I'm an Ezgo guy and would appreciate your help in answering this question .

Here's a couple, the alternator bracket is broken & needs welding so I removed the belt idler & bought a shorter belt so I can use the cart in the mean time.

Thanks Don,it must be a special order or aftermarket conversion(?).

To be honest? I haven't the slightest clue!

I don't get why there would be a starter/generator, AND and alternator on a serpentine belt...
(unless someone fabbed it up like that for more charging juice!)

What year is it?

It's a 1997 model that I bought from the state of Georgia,it has a full cab with electric ceramic heater, turn signals, windsheild wiper & high/low beam headlights. It's a flatbed with stake sides that was used for building maintenance and I'm thinking they may have spec'd the extra alternator to power an onboard power invertor (not present now but just a guess).Anyway it all looks like it came from the factory or a very top notch conversion outfit .

Look at the drive clutch. It is actually ribbed just like the inside of the serpentine belt is. Interesting

Yeah... it does look "factory"!

I'll agree with CCFanatic... it's defiantly interesting, with a bit of cool factor added!
