Default New problem 96 club car gas

96 club car carryall with a recent(1 week ago) fe350 transplant. Today while returning from bus stop at a good clip I let up to turn in my driveway couple back fires cart cut off would not turn over(pedal start) nothing first thought microswitch top wouldn't function the little point that clicks wouldn't on switch so replaced same thing happened to the new one while trying turn over(never did turn over) anyway with key switch on and using a jumper cable from batt poss to starter/gen poss it started right up ran as it should.

so new motor, new pedal start option(previously successful key start) new micro switches twice now, new solenoid.

Before I buy more micro swtches can anyone guess what I should be looking at. Please I need help, the engine mech out of town and I need this fixed

Here is the wiring diagram as it currently is. I am going to redo every bit that has to do with the cart running and cut everything else out ie oil light, reverse buzzer, lights radio ect. All I want is what will make the cart run. What I would really like is to cut the micros out all together and make it a key start so if anyone can tell me how to do this from this diagram please speak up

Eric?... I've read all of your posts, and you need to understand why your not getting any responses...

You have a pedal start cart, transformed to a "supposed" key start cart... with an additional toggle switch! (key on... flip the toggle)
Here's the problem... it's a morphed wire job that the previous owner did, and it's not stock for either pedal start, or key start!
Without any information, or pictures on how your wiring is set up... (key switch/toggle? relay?, micro switches? etc.) ... none of us can help you!

Here's what I'll suggest... (and take it for what you will)
DO NOT use that wiring diagram, and DO NOT disconnect all of the things you previously mentioned!
Trust me... it will only make matters worse!

Here's the deal... I understand that your tech is out of town,
and I understand that you need your cart for the weekend,
But, the more you mess with it? ... the worse it'll get!

So... I can get you the right diagrams for both the pedal start carts, and the key start carts,
BUT... it sounds like your cart has "Jury Rigged" wiring... and that's my biggest concern!

Do you understand?

no it has been returned to the factory set up, I would like to be a key start again but am willing to stay with the pedal start if it would work more then 2 hrs, I think it is grounding out somewhere otherwise it would not have worked at all for any length of time. The wiring diagram seems pretty straight forward and my only other option is $85. an hour to rewire a golf cart for something I should be able to do as I own a excavation company. The only reason I sent it out to be rebuilt because it was cheaper to have someone else who knew these club cars. But after him having it back twice since he finished the motor and now this latest problem. The motor runs great(still does) and that's not the issue its the wiring that makes it all go is the issue both the other 2 times and with todays issue all wiring related. Above you see exactly how this cart is wired TODAY other then the actual routing of the wires it looks pretty straight forward and I definitely have the wire the right connectors and have ordered everything I can think of a new voltage regulator a new continuous use solenoid 3 sets of microswitches, already have a new ignition switch and a new coil. As far as the accessories oil/voltage meter/radio/lights, they can be hooked up after the fact once the cart is starting and running correctly.

As far as the key start issue that is something that yes was done by previous owner and apparently correctly because it never gave me a minutes trouble un till this new motor as the mechanic refused to do the motor unless the cart was returned to a pedal start when I was asked I had a lot more important things to do so I just said as long as it works well it don't so if you start from scratch there is no jury rigged just proper wiring and components. whether its this little fe 350 or a Cat 7 they all require fuel/air and an ignition source

Have you checked to see if the 10 amp fuse in the Electrical Components Box was blown?

Yeah did try this and it works but I can't get the idle down far enough don't know why on the carb no adjustment left and the butterly sits forward of where it should be, new carb haven't figured it out yet. Machine is/was intended to use on job sites where stopping and starting will over tax the battery/gen set up mostly the generator bad idea club car

To me its quicker to start fresh the deal with this headache

I just realized that this new FE350 has that bright yellow sticker "W/O ACR" (without automatic compression relief) does that mean this motor was meant to be a key start or pedal start???
