Default First Step is Admitting a Problem

Well, I'm not admitting to it yet. Traded two generators I had bought and fixed for this 1997 Club Car DS gasser yesterday. Runs, has good brakes, homemade bed, and recovered seat and back rest. For some reason a Vegas Carts clone is sticking in my head, but I need to call them tomorrow. Their website lists up to a 1996, so not sure if their kit will work in this 1997.

The kits will work but in 97 is when club car changed and went from a ccw to a cw rotation so u would have to run the rear end in reverse to go forward which will work but u will lose a lot of speed

That's what I'm see from a few threads I've found. I'm reading about the jackshaft route to keep the OEM rotation.

A post just so I can keep track of this link for jackshaft information.

You might want to double check the serial number... that's a pre-97 air box!
Also? check the style of the transaxle, if it's a single unit it's 97+, (cw)
If it looks like 2 separate unit's (one on top of the other) it's a pre-97!
and THAT would be counter clockwise... perfect for a big block!

Another tid-bit of info... stand on the passenger side of the cart,
Chock the wheels, and tap the GO pedal a few times to see which way the drive clutch spins,
if it turns counter clockwise, again... perfect for a big block!

Thanks Don. I checked what you suggested and still leading to CW. Serial number is: AG9744 and I also stood on the passenger side and pressed the go pedal to see the engine spin CW.
