Default Rear End swap from pre 96CCW to a CW

My Club Car Carry All is a 1996 of course it came with a CCW FE290, was forced to replace with fresh FE350 CW. Yes I am forced to run in reverse for forward. Now that every thing a running correctly thanks in large part to Lockmans and others help. I am back to ask what can I do now (short of driving around in reverse) I have lost 7 or 8 mph of forward speed but I am also concerned with the potential of over revving the engine. Has anyone conquered this issue? Does anyone have any options? I though of changing to 8:1 gears($300+) I also am considering swapping rears to maybe a post 96 CW rear is this a doable thing? if so what do I need to look for? I could really use the input folks

I would sell the motor and buy the right motor for it if i had it, but, you should have no problem finding someone with a 1997+ cart who will swap rear ends with you. It would drive me nuts going foreward in reverse and vice versa.

Also if a golf cart shop sold you the cw motor for your ccw cart i would be sure to let people know who they are because thats a bunch of crap.

Its a bit of a pain a little slower revs higher then I like, but selling the motor is not something I am willing or want to do solving the issue is what I want to do. Can anyone tell me if finding 97 or later rear will bolt directly in

it should but here in lies the problem , it all depends on which cradle you have being a 96 it could have a solid or tube cradle , the solid one will work im not sure about the tube one , since the solid one is the rear mount to the center of the rear end and the tube mounts go to the spring perchs, anyone doing a big block swap on a 97 or newer ds would probably pay shipping both ways to get that rear from you.

everyone keeps saying that okay what would be the easiest to do and what should I ask for the 350 its fresh with less then 20 hrs on it. And when I say easiest bolt in and go would be the best, my knowledge of club cars is limited to what I have had to do/learn and this carryall is actually a daily driver and not a hobby

Where are you located? Might be able to find someone local with a motor you can use or just someone to help you.

You have a desireable ccw rear axle and a desirable cw motor, they just are wrong for each other. The cw fe350 should sell for good $$ due to the stupid cw deal and the lack of cw motors. Many of the motor swaps have been documented well online so alot of the headache has been handled already. With basic knowledge of motors and a multimeter its pretty easy to swap a clone motor or v twin in.

These carts are pretty easy to work on. Hopefully you can get it figured out and not have to rely on a shop that keeps misleading you and ripping you off.
