Clutch mods on a stock motor... worth it?
I've got a '99 CC carryall turf 2, stock motor with some minor mods found in the help section to increase speed. Cart and clutch works perfect.
Is there any benefit to me going to the Cart Parts Plus driven clutch mods and springs? I'm about to lift the cart with a 6" lift kit and 22 or 23" tires, I'm assuming that will kill my bottom-end torque once done, no? Would the clutch mods be a must-have once the larger tires are on? |

I have 22 inch tires . I am happy with just the severe duty drive belt. It helped torque and I can still take off smooth and easy when I want.

Re: Clutch mods on a stock motor... worth it?
If you adjust the spring in the driven clutch it will make it much nicer. When i lifted my carryall and put on 22" tires, it still had the fe290 and it had no torque. In thick dirt if i stopped it would barely get going again, the clutch would try to engage early before the motor made enough torque to push it. I tightened the spring in the driven and it let the motor rev up more before engaging the clutch and it was MUCH MUCH nicer. No issues with bogging down, even in thick sand.
