Default 1989 Club Car, starter turns great, won't start

1989 Club car, worked great last year, slowly getting harder and harder to start.
For a while it would only start in reverse, so I followed the procedure to replace the Starter Limit switch under the air box. That worked for a few minutes, now the cart will not start at all.
Cart turns over wonderful, I pulled the spark plug and grounded it, nice blue spark when in forward and reverse.
replaced the plug with a new one, same result.
I pulled the fuel line just before the tank, topped it off and turned it over. It seemed to take about 1mm of fuel with each starting stroke.
Pulled the plug and sprayed starting fluid in, replaced plug, nothing.
I'm stuck. What should I try next?
Thank you for any help!

After reading quite a few posts, I'll order a carburetor today and see if that helps.

A compression test wouldn't be a bad idea!
I think it should be around 100psi for a KF82.

1998 ought to have the Kawi FE290 engine in it rather than the KF82. As for compression for that, I know it should be higher then the KF82, but I do not know the exact #

Oops! I thought it said 89! I guess I should get my eyes checked again!

155 to 165 psi for an FE290!

Lockman, you were right! It IS a 1989 Club car, not a 1998. I accidentally swapped the numbers. I am patiently waiting on a new carb to see if that helps. I'll also pickup a compression meter and see what it says.
Thank you guys!

If there is a moderator for this board, they could rename this post to 1989 instead of 1998.
Thanks!

Perfect, you will be looking for the compression that Don listed for the KF82, which should be around 100psi
