Default Keep goin through starter/generator

Recently bought 03' club car. Starter/generators don't last 15 minutes. Wheels are 18" which is pretty ridiculous, but it looks cool. Been through 3 rebuilt and one brand new. Could the wheel size be an issue? If not what could be the cause? Thanks in advance for any response.

I think it's the steering wheel but post some pics of the engine bay just to be sure.

Does it start and run or are you cranking it 15 minutes?

What is happening to the starter/Gens are they
1. eating the brushes
2. Melting the windings
3. Breaking or melting contacts.

I know this is almost too obvious of a question but here goes.
Are you using 2 wrenches to reconnect the wires on the Starter/G , the inside nut should never turn
it should be held in place with the first open end wrench, then tighten the outer nut (only) with the other wrench ?
