Default Troubleshooting Light Kit Install - Do the rear taillights need to be installed?

Hi,

I've done many electric light kit installs (15+) but I'm working on my first gas cart which is a 2008 Precedent. I've installed the basic light kit with the gas harness adapter but have yet to install the tail lights due to some other work I want to do to the rear area of the cart involving a rear seat kit.

So far no luck getting the headlight to come on, I've double-checked the connections and I'm wondering if for some reason the tail lights need to be connected for all of this to work correctly?

Thanks!

Just had this headache myself. The purple wire that is part of the four wire harness (three are for the flashers) must be connected to hot.

Also, on my MadJax kit the flasher was bad and I had to hit the parts store for one. I did the deluxe kit and thankfully my 2015 Precedent had an existing factory harness so my taillight wires were already there.
