Problem installing rear lift 07 Precedent
I am installing a Jake's 6" double A Arm lift on my 07 CC Precedent. The front went smoothly. When installing the rear lift, I ran into a problem. When I move the leaf springs on top of the axle, the center bolts won't line up over the axle. The bolt lines up to the rear of the axle (almost like the axle moved forward) This means that it won't line up with the hole in the riser either. I should also mention that I have the 4 leaf heavy duty springs instead of the stock 1 leaf. These 4 leaf springs have been on since last year while the cart was not lifted, and the center bolt lined up fine. I have tried flipping the springs and switching the left and right, but still no luck. If I hook everything up, ie. u-bolt, shock, etc., it will tighten down but the center bolt sits on top of the riser and not in the hole. I tightened everything up and put the wheels on to see what it looked like. The rear wheels don't look centered in the wheel well, they look pushed forward.
Anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong with this? |

Re: Problem installing rear lift 07 Precedent
I got it figured out. If anyone is interested this is what I found. When initially installing the rear lift from the Jake's Lift Kit, I was using the installation video from Jake's. In it they say to remove the U-bolts and shocks from BOTH sides before installing everything. Well while searching for a fix, I watched a youtube video on installing a MadJax lift. In that one they say to just loosen one side but don't remove the bolts. Then remove everything on the other side and install the kit on one side at a time. I tried this and BOOM everything lined up great. I think by removing both sides at once it caused everything to shift forward and without one side anchored it wouldn't allow it to be manipulated in place. Either way, it worked.

Re: Problem installing rear lift 07 Precedent
Thanks for the post even though nobody replied. I’m having the same issue except I left the hardware attached on the passenger side and the leaf still wont line up. I’m about over this lol
