club car starts but will not run
I have a club car with I think a fe290 motor. It was running good and just stop. it will start when you try but will not run and pull any rpm. I'm at a loss on what to do any suggestions?

Re: club car starts but will not run
Spark, Fuel, Compression. What you're saying is the starter turns but the engine does not catch & run, right? Check for spark. Spray a little carb cleaner or starting fluid to check for fuel problem. Most likely one of those before a compression issue.

check spark... also check pulse line/hose from your fuel pump to your engine

Re: club car starts but will not run
As I stated the motor starts. (Fires and barely idles not good.) Motor has both compression spark and fuel. Was wondering if mabe a key on the flywheel could have broke?
I'm going to pull the motor and look at it closer today. |

Confirm that the throttle cable is operating the carb...
sometimes the governor spring and/or a cable might break! |

what he said... I had a lot of trouble with the butterfly spring being to strong and the governor arm would sometimes bind up not allowing it to accelerate (still happens sometimes) I have never figured out why |

Re: club car starts but will not run
Looking at the motor everything is working good. The engine has 150 psi of comprehension. Looks like great spark. And has fuel. When turning over it will fire but will not keep running. When watching it try to start it looks like a little smoke and fuel mist coming out of the carburetor. Could I have shared the flywheel pin?

Check that the float bowl vent tube is clear. That's the small, often clear tube that comes from the top of the carb near the mix screw. I've seen those get plugged by dirt & mud causing a constant flooding condition.
