Default 2008 CC "Pushing Gas out of Carb"

Hi all,

Six hours of lurking and searching later and all I know is that I want to start swapping motors in and out of these things. But that's another thread.

OT:
Guy says he has a 2008 Club Car that's pushing gas out of the carb. He's pretty sure it just needs the valves adjusted. From what I've been reading it could be that, it could be a torn diaphram, it could need a new carb. He's willing to give me a deal if I buy as-is.

None of that seems terribly daunting. Does anyone else have thoughts, opinions, advice on what to look for when I go look Saturday?

Having went through a very similar situation where when the cart was off the fuel would continue to run filling the carb then the cylinder and eventually the oil, this happed several times and the cart would actually hydro lock. It was very frustrating somebody eventually pointed me towards a possible bad fuel pump and or a dirty carb after a third time tearing down the carb I decided to put in a new fuel pump and that fixed the issue

Not terribly expensive eh? Was thinking I'd adjust valves, replace carb and pump. If that doesn't do it...420 replacement lol

Most likely carb but *** the fuel pumps only $12. I also put all new fuel lines semi-clear(yellow) from the tank to the carb including pulse line. Had 2 inline filters and still ended up with dirt in carb so I will replace them a lot more. Prior to replacing fuel pump the gas did run a steady stream at the carb when disconnected would literally empty the tank or fill the motor :( , after new fuel pump gas would run for 30secounds or so and then just drip drip. Once connected back to carb it would develop an air bubble between the second filter and carb in like an hour of sitting. Haven't had this problem since

I would put money on a carb is the problem, but a fuel pump is $13 so you can do that too if you want to just start new. You either have a worn needle and or seat and or a misadjusted or sunk float. As cheap as the aftermarket carbs are I would just buy a new carb and pump and go from there after an oil change. You won't be but like $50 into the parts. I have found that sometimes even with a rebuild the carb never performs as it should and it would of been better to just get a new aftermarket china copy.

nooooooo don't put in the china garbage. No china carb, and no china fuel pumps, those things are junk. A year later and they will be causing issues again.
I like it here where I am at when my completion uses those things. "Do it right, Cry once"

Ease up just a little bit there buddy!

I have no problems with someone that wants to "keep it cheap" ,
BUT... I have to agree with Golf cart guy... there are "some parts" that you shouldn't cheap out on!
(unless you want to replace it again in a few years!)
All of the OEM stuff on my cart has been working flawlessly for almost 10 years,
The aftermarket stuff???? Not so much!

Look I have no problem with OEM ones made in Japan the others in china. "Ease up really" I am not allowed my opinion. If someone wants to spend the money that's fine. I buy stuff based on one, a warrantee and two what other people are saying about the product and if I can get free shipping LOL

It's obvious that your experiences, and my experiences differ!
I'm as cheap as the next guy, BUT... I'd prefer to NOT replace something I've already replaced!

Carry on!
