96 club car won't fire.
96 club car carry all..new ignition...new fuel pump. ..new carburetor and spark plug and coil. Getting gas, seems to be getting a spark, but notice when I mash the gas pedal the rpm limit or does not have fire, when u let off gas and touch it with a tester..it is showing hot.
Tryingto make sure it is the correct ignition. I bought a 4 prong and have read that it might need to be a 5 switch. |

Re: 96 club car won't fire.
You never answered me in your first post, is it pedal start? or a key start cart?
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...e-diagram.html 90% of us have a pedal start carts... and IF... your Carry All II is a key start cart, you'll need to mention that in almost every post! If your not sure because the cart didn't have a key switch when you bought it, The easiest way to determine a key start, from a pedal start cart, is to see if you have a relay, and only ONE micro switch in the Electrical Components Box! (Black box with the solenoid, fuses, and throttle cable cam) If... you KNOW that it was a key start cart, a 4 prong key switch will not work on a key start cart, a 5 prong has a "momentary" start position that 4 prongs don't have! |

I apologize for not answering the first time. It's has 2 micro switches in the black box. So I'm gonna say pedal start.

Re: 96 club car won't fire.
Disconnect white wire with black tracer that goes up passenger side of the motor by the dipstick tube. See if it will run

Re: 96 club car won't fire.
96 is a weird year for Club Cars, So let's try this...
Does the drive clutch (on the engine) spin clockwise? Or counter clockwise? The reason I ask that is because, early 96's rotate counter clockwise, and have a separate ignitor. |
