Are you sure it's a 1991? Or are you sure it's an FE290 motor? 1992 was the first year for the FE290 in the Club Cars. 1984-1991 carts came with the KF82 flathead motor. I have the full Club Car service manual but there's nothing in there on the FE290 motors as it only covers 1986-1991 carts.

Yes, it is a KF82. But, all the web sites for parts for that year say it's a FE 290. Sorry for the confusion. It took me a while to figure out the correct engine. Are the specs the same? I initially ordered rings for that year and things have gone astray to say the least. Replaced the rings and grinded the valves, had little compression. So, machine shop adjusted the valve stems to get the proper clearance so the valves would close. Still not enough compression to run. Machine shop had me order oversize piston and rings (.025mm). He wants to know the piston to cylinder wall clearance. This engine has given me fits to say the least.

Ok then it should go without saying that you should ignore any specs that say they're for an FE290 motor. You have a KF82 motor which runs counter-clockwise (all Club Car KF82s run that way). PM me and I'll link you to the full service manual which covers your cart and motor.
