Jakes wheelbase extension vs block lift.
Posted this in the On Road Golf Carts sub but when I'm searching it looks like most of these questions are in the golf cart specific sections. Sorry for the repost.
Have a 2001 club car ds that I just put 12in r50s on. Figured I was going to need something at least in the front but the guy at golfcartking said they should be fine. Well, the back looks good. Jumped up and down on it and there looks to be plenty of clearance but I haven't loaded up the back seat and gone for a ride. The front driver's side rubs on the plastic air intake duct when turned to the left and on the passenger side is about 1/2 inch form the frame when turned far right. I assume a good bump on a right turn it will rub as well. Was looking at the Jakes wheelbase extension and all sports 1" block lift. Any opinions on the best way to go? thanks Brian |

I saw this, then I took a peek at your other thread,

I had the same issue, I installed the extension from jakes...No more problems. I run 205/65-10, A nice alternative to a lift

Re: Jakes wheelbase extension vs block lift.
Would this be useful if I wanted to put 20" overall diameter tires on my CC?

Re: Jakes wheelbase extension vs block lift.
A lift block in the front is recommended. 1" for DS, 1/2" for Pres. (per TahoeDawg).
Get them at Revolution. . |

Re: Jakes wheelbase extension vs block lift.
Got the wheelbase extension in and it looks and rides great. No rubbing. I was going to put extended shackles in the rear but so far I don't think it needs them. I did have a lot of bouncing with the new tires but had them balanced and it's a smooth ride.
