Club Car DS 2007 Carb Questions
I'm in the process of refurbing a 2007 club car DS that had been sitting behind a shed for at least 2 years. It doesn't appear to have any modifications done to it. Of course I ended up taking off the carb and cleaning it. Every hole in every jet was almost completely plugged.
The problem I'm having is that the pilot jet needs to be 2.5 turns out (which is almost all the way out and seems a little far) in order for it not to hesitate (almost die) after letting off the gas at full speed and then hitting the gas again when it slows down. Another problem is the pilot jet is loose in the threads and moves from the vibration (almost seems it should have a spring on it like the other adjustments). For the mean time I have taken a small piece of tubing and put it on the jet threads to act as a spring so it won't vibrate. I can't imagine that the pilot jet is the correct one. Any insights would be appreciated. Also, is it running lean or rich for the engine to hesitate? |

Re: Club Car DS 2007 Carb Questions
You might be a little confused... (that's okay, we ALL are at times! )
The pilot jet (#13) should be all of the way in, and snug! The fuel/air mixture screw (#15) needs to be 2 to 2-1/2 turns out, AND... since its on an 07, the fuel/air mixture screw has a tab on it that will only let you turn it 3/4's of a turn, (it's pre-adjusted to 2 turns at the factory) Make "good and sure" that the orifice on the pilot jet is clear, and go ahead and snug it up... it should work better for you! |

Is this the same carb diagram for all 295 cc DS engines?

Thanks Lockman!! PS: It was snug when I took it apart, but the guy I bought it from was trying to get it started and just figured that he had screw in it. |

Pretty much runs like it did before with #13 screw in. It works better when I hold the choke in.... so it sounds like the hole in the jet is not big enough? Anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for this carb.... all I see are the kits for the older DS's. |

Run it part throttle in maintenance mode, and spray carb cleaner all over the filter box, intake tube, and carburetor, If the rpm's change while your spraying it, you have an air leak somewhere! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If the rpm's don't change... and the carb was as "buggered up" as you say it was, your better off just replacing it! (rebuild kits for these are basically just a gasket set) Now... IF you decide to just replace it, you have two options, 1) an OEM carb (rather pricey, around $180) OR... 2) a cheap china knock off on Flee-Bay for around $20 IF... the cart is yours, and you don't want to replace the carb EVER AGAIN... go with the OEM carb, IF... you don't want to spend the money, and you don't care if the carb lasts 3 or 4 years, then go with the Flee-bay carb. It's your call! |
