Default Carb. Question

On 94 DS 290 motor, when you turn screw in on fuel mixture , does that decrease gas mixture ? What I am wondering which way makes the gas richer .

Default Re: Carb. Question

I've been confused about that for years until... well?... just now!

Technically, it's an "idle circuit", (for a smooth idle)
Being that pedal start carts don't really ever idle...
(and it stops being used the second the throttle plate opens...)
a general setting of 1-1/2 to 2 turns out would be a nominal setting.

on 4 stroke engines, it's considered a "Fuel" screw,
so, yes... turning the screw IN decreases the amount of fuel, (lean)
and turning the screw OUT increases the amount of fuel. (rich)

Here's a pretty good article that explains it.
(granted, it pertains to a motorcycles, BUT... it's the same idea!)

Hope this helps!
