what engine do i have?

i have a stock '93 gas club car. what make, model engine do i have? is there a way to cross reference a car s/n to an engine? i think this is important for me to know when/if i need to purchase parts.

PUT THE NUMBER IN passenger side under the thing that looks like a glove bx. IS a CCW(counter clock wise rotation) either FE290 OR FE350 also the number on the motor or a picture of the motor(might not be stock)

The most popular CC's in 1993 were DS models, and all of them came with a Kawasaki FE290 OHV 9.5 hp engine!

i am quite sure it is stock, i bought it from the grandson of a little old lady who only used it on her farm - honest. the s/n on the cart is AG9342355698. where is the s/n on the engine?, i will check it out, also. i downloaded the owner's manual, it is a DS.

If its a stock engine as lock man said it is pre 96 FE290 CCW (counter clock wise) engine. They are pretty simple to work on and the people on this site will help you some of them live and breathe Club cars and are a wealth of knowledge and know how

There are 2 or 3 places to find out what size engine you have,

I'm not sure if this first one is on 1992/93 engines, (but it was on my buddies 1994)

A vinyl bar code sticker on the engine shroud...

and there's a plate on the side of the engine shroud towards the transaxle...
(kinda tough to see)

All else fails... there will be a FE290 casting on the base of the engine at the rear oil drain plug!
I've heard of other stampings also... S/G bracket, etc., but I personally have never seen them.

thanks guys, especially lockman - you have answered several of my threads. fyi - bought the car 6 months ago, after having it inspected and serviced at a local (clt., nc) dealer. it is now at our vacation home in the mountains. it is 50 mi. to the nearest dealer, and i'd have to rent a trailer to get it there. thus i am trying to learn as much as i can on my own. this blog, and people like you, are really helpful.
