Club Car gas solenoid
It seems that my solenoid has failed (again). I had unknowingly bought a car starter type from NAPA maybe 1-2 years ago and the cart now won't start unless I short the solenoid, then it starts and runs fine. The one I bought looked like an exact replacement for what was already in there when I got the cart 5 years previously.
I get 12v at the small blue wire when the key is on and the gas pedal pressed, so the key switch and microswitches at the pedal and selector switch are working. The small orange wire on the solenoid is continuous with ground, so all the wiring is intact, it's just that the solenoid doesn't work because there's no juice to the starter motor unless I short it out. Does anyone have experience with the $12-15 continuous duty 12v solenoids sold on fleabay? I hate the idea of spending $40-50+ for "OEM" ones sold on golfcart sites. Any other sources for these that are reasonable? |

Re: Club Car gas solenoid
Just buy a quality part from a site sponsor. Make sure you use 2 wrenches when tightening the wires.

Re: Club Car gas solenoid
There is a reason those are only $12-$15.
OEM is your best bet. |
