Default Storage

Have any of you come up with anything creative for storage on the DS's? I'm not talking about in the dash, but under the seat. I know on the electric carts they make trays that sit on top of the batteries for storage but there's not really room for that on a gasser.

I was thinking about building a box or maybe even 3D printing a box to fit exactly on top the electrical box were the solenoid is. Maybe even have my box be the lid for the other box if I could 3d print it correctly...only my box will be as high as the seat will let it and will be big enough to hold a few wrenches, screwdrivers, and spare belts...along with the insurance card and road registration.

What are you thoughts, ideas? Pics???

I bought a cash lock box and put it behind my battery a few years ago.

I was fishing around the garage looking for something that would fit snug in the grommet and keep the mud out. I found an old gas cap from a gas can I no longer own and cut it to fit. I wasn't even planning on it, but the gas cap provides a bit of a disguise for the cash box, making it look like some kind of fluid container! The main reason for the cash box is so that I can put my wallet and phone in it when I go swimming, instead of trying to hide them in a shoe or on a towel.

I also installed a 12V cigarette lighter socket on the dash up front, nothing too fancy about that. Mainly for charging my phone.

Here's the cash box I bought:

what year is your cart? My air box is a lot larger than yours. I couldn't access a cash box mounted where yours is because the air box would be over it.

How about an "under the counter" cash drawer mounted under your rear seat?
Key lockable, and the drawer is spring loaded so it "pops out" when the it's unlocked!

Something like this...

Granted, for that price, you'd be paying more for the tray (that your not going to use) then the box,
I didn't research it very hard, but you may be able to find just the box somewhere.

Nah...thanks for looking though. I'm really going for something under the front seat. Similar to Spring if I can figure out where. I still think my idea will work but I don't have a 3D printer and to my knowledge neither do any of my friends

No worries!
you mentioned you wanted a couple of wrenches and maybe spare belts,
so I just figured you'd might want something a little larger.

That's right. Larger would be better. The box I would design would be large enough. Spring's could probably work but would certainly look for something a little larger.

Overall Height - Top to Bottom: 8"
Overall Width - Side to Side: 6.25"
Overall Depth - Front to Back: 3.25"
