Default 95DS Oil change-cant get oil out?

In the midst of my spring bolt disaster from an earlier post, i am changing my oil in a 95 DS.
Ive got the rear end up in the air,the axil is approx 14 inches off the ground.

I took out the oil bolt and only about 6 or 8 ounces appear in the pan. I checked the oil dipstick, cleaned it and put it back in,it comes out totally clean and dry. Now that i've drained this i checked the low oil light and it does come on.

Is there a trick to get all the oil out? Do i need a device like you use on a boat to change the oil that sucks it out?

You have removed the drain plug stood the cart on it's nose and removed the spin on oil filter? I would say that about does it

lol

i measured the oil and got about 28 or 30 oz. Would the light come on that low? I know on the dipstick i was always in the middle of the add zone.

I cranked it up as far as i could and no more came out so i measured out the 38 oz needed and put it in. I hope it doesnt blow up.

it is lifted with 6" spindle kit and 22" tires

The dipstick now doesnt read anything since i put the cart off the jack stands and added 38 oz of oil to it.
Im gonna check again in the morning to make sure it didnt just need time to flow.Who kows,if i cant read my oil level now its going to suck.

Hang on I will go find the oil capacity of a 95 fe290, right? When it is lifted it will show lower on the stick. You need to add the exact amount called for and remark the stick

My Kawasaki engine manual calls for 1.1 Liter of 10w30 oil. My online conversion says that is equivalent to 37.195 ounces or 1.162 quart. Looks like you are real close ... The oil is probably too clean to see. Use a light to help see it... let it settle until morning then pull the stick, read with a flashlight, file a new line on the stick ..... Good Luck

My cap per the service manual is 38oz with a filter, which i did

the wierd thing is i only got like 26 or 29 oz out,but my low oil light was never on and it was always at the right mark on the dipstick before i lifted it.

Then we agree.... you just need to remark the dip stick on a 6 inch lift..... Oh and get those leafspring bolts replaced with something suitable.

yeah it seemed to just take a while to move through, right now its on the A of add oil. I gotta run it to make sure its circulated now. But first,i think my starter took a crap :( I hit the gas and it doesnt turn at first, let off the gas, then it might make a whirring noise and then turn. I can see the spindle,it itsnt moving when it makes the noise.

I replaced the brushes last week. Also looks to be a small amt of smoke coming off the white wire.
