Default 1994 club car ds always starts but takes 30 seconds

My dad has a 1994 club car DS and always has problems starting it. It is especially bad when cold but happens hot as well.sometimes starts right away not often though and most times it cranks for 30 seconds
Cranks fine. New battery , new coil, new fuel pump , new carb
Disconnected the rpm limiter. Makes no difference with the rpm limiter into out.
The igniter wasn't there, bought a new one installed and no spark when it's in. Took it back out spark again. Always was getting blue spark except when we tried to put the new igniter in. Plug is sooty black looking . Changed it twice and put recommended plug by manufacturer.
Air box and choke is not plugged with anything.

This cart has seen 4 mechanics and 1000 bucks of repair and nothing. I'm trying to help my dad out, I need help

Thanks in advance

I assume that at least one of the 4 mechanics got a compression reading?

Easiest gas golf cart engine on the planet.
Find a golf cart mechanic, and your problem will be solved.

Yes one of the mechanic said he did a compression check and it was good
But he never gave my dad the numbers

:(

Put the cart in maintenance mode, take the breather hose off at the carb, spray short bursts of starting fluid or gas in spray bottle into carb. See if she starts faster while doing that....

Also my starting belt slips at first, almost everytime I get in my cart... Wonder if yours could be slipping for 30 secs before she turns over and cranks..

Thanks for the reply.no slipping at all. I had him put a little gas in the plug hole a while back and it had started right away. Would that prove the same thing as spraying in the carb inlet ?
I'll try that.i will also bring my gauge and test his compression when I go this week. Today his cart wouldn't start at all
Just put put put put put!

By putting gas in the spark pug hole - straight into the cylinder most of it gets pushed into the exhaust rather than gets burned. That said, if it started right away with that little bit of gas introduced it suggests a carburation problem. Could be: bad float, bad needle valve, bad gasket (causing vacuum leak), bad hose (also vacuum leak), valve adjustment, plugged float bowl vent hose... Just for starters.
Re: the ignitor - while it's old enough to have originally had the separate ignitor, it's a common "update" to replace with the newer type unified ignitor/coil when the original coil dies.

^^^ what he said.

If the new carb you got was a cheap ebay /Amazon carb 20 bucks ish or less. They been known to have metal shavings in them. So they need to be cleaned out..

While still in maintenance mode, and in neutral... Reinstall the breather hose.. Get it running at a decent idle, spray outside of carb with starter fluid.... If engine revs up then you have a gasket leak.

Has this cart ever set for a long time?

Thanks for the reply again
I will try to spray outside of the carb and see if it speeds up.
The cart sits in storage for the winter months but it's all fresh gas, etc
I will ask where he got his new carb from
The plug is dry sooty but yet he had gas In his oil
Compression btw 130 psi
I'm thinking maybe valves idk. Sometimes it seems like it's getting better other days it doesn't start at all now
Could valve lash need adjustment even though compression is good?

Thanks again

I assume you are holding in that choke button below your left knee when cranking it (when motor is not at operating temp), and only releasing it after it kicks over??
