Default Things to check after Harvey?

So we evacuated yesterday - left the car and the Golf Cart. So for the golf cart, what are the thing to check - milky oil and water and the gas. What else? I am hoping for the best but I am sure we will have water in the garage where we left the cart and car. Thanks for any insight as we put things back together.

P.S I need to update my tagline - sold that cart 3 months ago and bought a gasser and been really happy with it.

Firstly, be safe and know we're sending prayers down that way and all are pulling for you as you deal with Harvey.

As for the cart, I would check the water line, you'll see it plainly, where the flood crested in the garage. Hopefully it doesn't get in at all, and if so only minimally. The height of the water line will tell you how much stuff got soaked. I would definitely drain gas, oil, and differential if water was present over the engine. Take off carb and drain any water plus blow out fuel lines. New filters now wouldn't be a bad idea. With new oil in the crankcase, take plug out (new one wouldn't hurt) and crank her in maintenance mode to blow out any water. Cranking with a little oil down the cylinder with the plug out wouldn't hurt if water comes out. This will be messy, a rag over the hole will help. Now you're ready, after new gas, filters, carb blowout, oil change, cylinder clearing, and differential oil change, to fire her up. That is barring friend electronics. Make sure all electronics are dried out first. After the restart, run it a short time and change oil and diff fluid again, just to get any last bit of water out.

Best of luck, hoping and praying here that you'll not need to do any of that stuff.

My daughter lives in Sillsbee, right on the Nueces River, they will be doing that with everything they own, daughter says all bridges are down to get to Beaumont, She said they will try to make their way to Kountze today....even trying to make it to Lumberton is a no go, she told me that the river finally created last night. Boat travel has been the only way to get around.

The motorcycles, golf carts, tractors and other equipment will be ok..
It's her automobiles I think we won't be able to revive, computers and all the electronics that are in cars today. At least her cars were insured.
Be safe. As our favorite game warden was killed this weekend trying to rescue some stranded people, he was electrocuted as he tried to step out the boat.
Also be careful of the snakes too.
Just be safe in Genral.
Are you able to get to your home now?
