Also have the clutch spring and still this thing wont climb well, not because the spring doesnt work but it just doesnt seem to run right. Very hard to start when cold as well. Does anyone have any settings for the carb or anything that i should do? Any help would be great thanks alot

The CC carbs are touchy ..... when stock they will not run right without the restriction of the air cleaner attached. Some guys have gotten them to run good with the bigger jet but, I read of alot of trouble. Does your clutch have the 36 degree faces. The 28 degree work much better for hill climbing also check to see that the belt is coming all the way to the top of the driven clutch in the rear....it should be almost coming out of it when starting out.
Manual says the idle mixture air screw should be 2 turns out as a starting point........

How does it run on flat ground? Could it be the governor out of adjustment?
When you say "not right", Is it missing under load or smell of gas?

That motor chokes under your leg and you need the complete air box and tube assy for it to work.
Hard starting could be from running the open filter without the air box assy.
Can you add any more details about it running?

Ok, so do you have a choke on it?
Who did the filter mod and jet install? was there any tuning afterwards? Store bought doesn't always mean it's right. You might have to still play with the jet sizing to get it tuned, what size jet?
No gov will not have any effect on how it starts unless you run higher rpms alot and the compression starts to go south.

You should put a fuel shutoff valve in-line. bouncing carb (float and needle) in trailer could be flooding motor and taking a while to clear.
Also gas in tank sloshing could be building pressure and forcing past needle and seat for same symtoms.

i have had more than one cart flood after a ride on a trailer! the fuel shut off is a must in my book.

i did the jet install with the filter myself. The shutoff may be a great idea. I will try that. Also i will try to start with that carb on 2 turns out on the screw and let you know what size jet i have
