2012 Club Car dead pedal in Forward
Brand new to the forum. First post since the cart has never failed in 5 years..I've got a 2012 Club Car Strech. The pedal is dead in Forward. No movement, no click, no noise. When I put it into N...the engine fires up. When I move it to Reverse, the buzzer goes on and the engine will fire and the cart will move backward like normal. Is this a bad Micro switch or am I looking at something else. I'm not too cart or gas engine savy, but I will get dirty to trace down the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the contact at the FNR is not connecting. On my 95 it's just some metal tabs that can bend and/or twist out of position. I'm sure its a little different on a 2012 but same concept.

Check the little yellow cam on the back side of the shifter (lift up the seat to access it). Sounds like a micro switch isn't getting tripped.

Here's the backside of the shifter on an older cart. The newer ones look pretty similar I believe. If the shifter cable is misaligned, causing that little yellow cam to not trip that first micro switch when you're in gear, you will have a dead pedal:
(that second micro switch with the broken tab is just the switch that triggers the reverse buzzer, which I'd rather not have anyway...) |

Welcome to BGW kenv!
We know you have a 2012 Club Car stretch... however, a model name might help a little more. Precedent? Carryall/XRT? |

Re: 2012 Club Car dead pedal in Forward
Sorry....I was out for the holidays. Based on the pic above....mine is making a connection. I don't see the tab not touching. It's pushed in. That's what is stumping me. Also...Don....It is a 2012 Gas Precedent...stretched brand new out box by CKD carts in Baytown, Texas. I know the engine is a Kawasaki. Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm not too golf cart savvy....and I sure appreciate any advice on this. Ken
