Ordered clutch pullers.....
While I was contemplating taking the cheaper way out, I ordered my clutch pullers so I didn't have to come here begging for pity if it didn't turn out good. So, my question is after I pull out the main bolt on the drive clutch, do I use the 3 hole puller first to get the outside of clutch off first and then the single puller to get the rest of the clutch off? There sure isn't much room in there! My cart is already up on jack stands so I had to jack up the right rear tire to get a straight shot at the bolt. Thanks for any help or insight into what I might be getting myself into! lol

Re: Ordered clutch pullers.....
Are you talking about the primary clutch (the one on the engine)? If so you use a clutch puller that is just a bolt with a smaller solid shaft on the end.
The clutch will come off as one piece. |

Re: Ordered clutch pullers.....
Yeah you don't need a three-bolt puller to remove it (that will only remove the outer sheave). As said earlier, the long clutch remover bolt is all you need and the clutch comes off in one piece.

Re: Ordered clutch pullers.....
The outer cover shouldn’t require a puller it should come off with a couple bolts......

Re: Ordered clutch pullers.....
then what is the 3bolt puller for on CCP website? Is that in case you can't get the cover off the drive clutch? thanks for the replies.

Re: Ordered clutch pullers.....
The 3 bolt puller is to take the cover off the outside of the drive clutch. If you are going to rebuild the clutch (arms, weights, pivot pins) that cover has to come off. Sometimes they are stubborn.

Re: Ordered clutch pullers.....
Now I feel stupid cuz I can’t figure out how to use that 3 hole puller☹️
The instructions aren’t for dummies! Plate, 3 bolts, washers and nuts and the center bolt/washer and nut. Says leave 1/2 in thread showing for the 3 bolts and 3/4 for the center. But which side of plate do they go? I just don’t want to break this clutch too. Any help would be appreciated and Happy Thanksgiving to all BGW peeps! |
