Default Cart dies when warm but will start if pushed!

We have a '95 DS with an unusual problem. When cold, it runs fine, but after it warms up, it will begin to sputter and 'pop' and if you stop it won't start again (engine cranks but won't fire). However, if you depress the pedal and have someone push it, it will fire and run (not great) until you stop again. I don't know how or why pushing the cart can cause it to start. In any event, I did some searching and in the EZ-GO forum was the exact same description of my Club Car problem, and two respondents had the same comment - it was a 'classic' symptom that the crankshaft seals needed to be replaced (!!??). I don't understand that at all but apparently had something to do with the fuel pump not getting pressure from the engine to keep the fuel flowing (but again, how could it start by pushing it?). At this point, I have too many questions and no answers that make sense to me. Has anyone else actually experienced this and discovered the cause and the fix? My only attempt at a fix involved replacing all the fuel delivery parts (intake 'straw', fuel lines, fuel pump, and filters), but that made no difference.

The airbox on the cc is notorious for failing and causing much of the same issues. A can of starting fluid will tell you if that is the problem. Not saying that is your issue but it is an easy place to start.
