Default Towing a small boat?

I have a 15' Boston Whaler and a small trailer for it. My truck died and I might not be replacing it for a few months. I would like to be able to pull/launch and tow the boat with my gas Club Car. Looking as some other posts, it looks possible. Boat, motor and trailer should be around 1000 lbs.
I don't have a hitch on it and need to order one. Are there any other upgrades you would recommend that would help? I don't want to spend a fortune on it, just make it easier on the engine. Might do it once a month.

How far will you be towing it? How steep is the ramp?

If you decide to do this, hitch needs to attach to frame.

Towing about 1/2 mile. Ramp is not steep at all and I'll only pull it out at high tide.

With a CVT you need not worry about making it hard or not on the engine. The drive belt maybe but the engine will be fine.

Sounds good. I think I'll get the parts ordered today. I've been thinking about doing it before the towing came up, but will probably order the Club Car power package from Cartpartsplus.

You might need a tongue extension on the trailer so you don't douse the engine when you back up on the ramp, and depending on the ramp, you may have very little traction with the tires trying to pull 1000lbs. up a wet incline.

How did this turn out? I have an antique 17' whaler and gas club car which I'm interested in doing the same with.

I'd like to know too, but he hasn't logged in since last April.

Why don't you start a new thread and we'll see where this goes.

Hmm. Gas cart pulling a boat out of water... seems like a big ask to me. I would suggest using a long enough tongue to keep the tires on dry ground if you try it.
