86 DS Gear case leak?

was given a 86 gas DS that didnt run. Found out the starter solenoid was bad. Replaced that runs and drives great. After check some fluids i realized that the rear end was completely dry. I put oil in it and drove it up and down the street a few times. I'm going to redo the body and things for a friend. I let it sit in cold storage for a bit and when i went to get it there was a ton of oil on the ground and it all came out of the gear case some how dead center of the cart. any guesses on what it is? is it an axle seal or is there a gear case seal for the two halves? Any help greatly appreciated.

Mine is an '01 and it was leaking where the axle tube flange bolts to the chunk. One of the bolts was backing out about a half inch.
