2004 Gas Precedent - Need just a little more Speed
I'm a new member.. and I just got my first golf cart.. a 2004 gas Club Car Precedent.. and drove it around quite a bit today.. and wanted just a little more speed.. not much.. just a few more MPH's.. I didn't want to disconnect the rev limiter.. but was hoping to get a few MPH's out of the cart without hurting the motor..
I am somewhat mechanical.. just don't know how to go about adjusting the govenor.. or what the easiest way would be.. someone mentioned something about zip ties.. but it didn't make much sense to me.. so if you could explain it in such a way.. that my silly self could understand.. I would genuinely be grateful! Soo.. any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You! |

Re: 2004 Gas Precedent - Need just a little more Speed
Aha.. Thanks for all of your help.. that response was ok.. but I found another thread "slow precedent need speed" and that was perfect.. and I now have the speed I need..
My question is.. that I now have the speed I want.. not too much.. and not so much that the rev limiter kicks in.. but my driveway is a mile long.. and on one section.. there is a long hill.. and while going down that hill.. the rev limiter kicks in.. and I've test drove the cart a few times.. and one time it backfired after the rev limiter kicked in.. and it doesn't do it anywhere else on my property or any other place.. just on that long hill.. so I don't want to damage the motor.. and will ease up on the pedal going down that hill.. but will the occasional backfire hurt anything? Thanks again for all of your help!! Mike |
