Default Help ID Electrical Component

Cleaning up my Cart and looking through the manual and can not identify it, looks almost like a voltage regulator, but that is in the black box.

any idea ?? Pictures Below

It IS a solenoid...
I'm not exactly sure what it was used for since you still have the stock one in your Electrical Components Box!

It is a solenoid, but the wires involved look pretty light weight - like they don't really carry that much current. Is it maybe used as a headlight relay? Pull the fuse and see if the lights still work, or see what else doesn't work.

So why would they have a second one ?? looks like most of the wires have been CUT off ?!?
I will go out and TRACE the wires going to and from it and see where they go, if anywhere.

Considering the one in the Black Box are still connected and look factory.

sorry, also noticed several splices in some wire runs, looks like they split one line into two ?!? did notice when cleaning the front there was an extra wire on the drivers side headlight that was NOT connected and did NOT look like the rest of the factory wires.

will take some pictures of all this when i get home tonight.

pull the fuse and NOTHING works, no lights, no start, etc... DEAD IN WATER

put fuse back in a everything works.

spent some time last night chasing wires on the DS. Red & Orange wire on right out of the Solenoid goes to Blue in the Main Solenoid (blue goes to Key Switch). Large Black (top Left) goes to Orange in the Main Solenoid (orange goes to Acc Pedal Limit Switch), 2 Small Blacks come off same post on Second Solenoid and go to 2 black wires in light wire harness. Then a Red from bottom left post in second solenoid goes to red in light wire Harness.

Looks like they added in the Second Solenoid and jumped from the main to the secondary. using the Accelerator Pedal Switch side (Orange Wire). so the lights ONLY work when the pedal is pushed in. let the pedal go and lights go out.

Also looks like they added in other items on the solenoid as well, as you can see there are cut off wires.

This would mean ANYTHING they had connected ONLY worked when the cart was running. that would be crazy IF they ever drove at night. take your foot off and it goes dark. guess you have to hold the pedal in slightly to keep the lights on.

I looked at the factory light kit and it had a dash switch, so have to dig to see if they hid that somewhere or cut it out and closed the circuit so always on. Also figured out the hanging wires up front are for the marker lights, as they do NOT work and are NOT connected. They are also all busted up and beat pretty bad. so I may install the LED Light kit when I tear it down and clean it up. May need to get a NEW wire harness for it as well. do it right.
